you do realize that if windowblinds had been freeware that you would be bigger than jesus right now right?

imagine if it had been free AND open source? windows would be based on the tech we all came up with. and stardock would be filthy filthy fucking rich. to bad they were selfish.

it was free once? when i came into the skinning thing it was at version 4 and cost like 25 bucks =/

lol yeah i remember a certain fascination with weird ass futuristic wmp skins.. but that was when i was in freshman year of high school and quake 3 was everything.

I never liked WB either.. I think I wouldnt use it even if its free.. most of themes has too much bugs and also stability of WB is just horrible.. it also eats some of your memory, mad font rendering... are there some + except skinning abilities? :O

There's no chance in hell Stardock would ever make WindowsBlinds free. But I don't really have anything against that, thats their decision, I'm just not going to buy their software(s).

Either way, using customized visual styles is much better than WindowsBlinds as you don't need to have a resource hog running when using normal visual styles, and frankly most WindowsBlinds skins looks horrible.

True, but compared to using a visual style, WB is a resource hog.

yeah. i honestly can't feel it on my system tho. drag + popup delay is smooth. now, with tt the damn window frames would detach from the window and bounce around the screen on drag. :lmao:

I agree... I'd be WAYY more inclined to use Windows Blinds if it were free. Granted... there are "alternative" means to obtain such software... Either way, I think they'd be a lot more popular.
