UPDATE:
i added a second skin that has no fullscreen controller at all. if you have issues with the fullscreen controller always showing you can use this.

get it? cause i'm aaron. nevermind

this vlc skin is for linux and windows versions of vlc only. it is designed to match the panels in my gtk theme resonance

its my idea of a functional and sexy player. the volume icon toggles a little slider window that you can move around the screen, and dock above the icon. the playlist button toggles a playlist that you can move around or dock to the bottom of the player.

the theme includes a very sexy fullscreen controller that is moveable and resizeable and looks damn good laying over the video. you'll have to download and use the theme if you want to see that in action.

installation:
vlc installs a skins directory inside the applications primary root directory. copy the vlt file into the skins directory, the set vlc to skin mode and apply the skin.

Dude, I can't move the vlc windows to another place! It stucked at the top left and I can't even move it with my mouse pointer. Whats the problem?

the toolbar acts like a caption bar for click/drag.. just grab an empty space. have you tried that?

tried an empty space, It just need to be paused to show up the min/max button so that I could move through that.

yeah, i wanted a semi transparent square for close but the vlc skinned interface is limited

copy vlt file into vlc skins folder. in ubuntu its at /usr/share/vlc in windows its probably in the vlc program files folder

i added a second skin in the download that has no fullscreen controller. you'll have to use hotkeys in fullscreen i guess. really wish i knew why fs controller doesn't work for some people. could be the version of vlc you're using
